Our Story
Tiffany and Andy Slipka didn't plan to build a pickleball empire. They just fell in love with the game—and with the community that came with it.
As longtime members of The Pickleball Club of Carlsbad, they saw firsthand what founders Shawn and Rufina Walker had created when they opened the doors in 2021: six courts, a passionate staff, and a spirit so welcoming it drew thousands of players into the sport. For many in North County, it wasn't just a place to play—it was a second home.
That kind of community has a way of pulling you in deeper. By 2024, Andy and Tiffany were doing more than just showing up to play. They were showing up to help—partnering with the Walkers to think through what the club could become as pickleball's growth showed no signs of slowing down. More courts. More programming. More space for more people.
What started as a collaboration became something bigger. In 2025, that shared vision took on a new name: Pickleball Republic. A refreshed identity built to honor everything the Walkers had created, while opening the door to an exciting, multi-location future.
Today, our North Mall location carries forward the heart of the original club—welcoming players of every level, offering programming that actually develops your game, and fostering the kind of community that keeps you coming back. And in early 2026, Pickleball Republic Carlsbad South will add tournament-sized indoor and outdoor courts, expanded training spaces, and even more room to learn, connect, and play.
The courts have grown. The name has changed. But the reason we're here hasn't: pickleball brings people together—and we're committed to making more space for that.
